Week 5 Round Up

WEEK 5 ROUND-UP:

Week 5 is behind us and only one undefeated team remains The Philadelphia Eagles. If you ask me, it seems we are destined to watch an Eagles Vs Bills Super Bowl this February.  Might be worth looking at future bets for those two teams.  In other news, Jacksonville lost a head-scratcher at home to the Houston Texans, and the #1 offense in the league (Detroit Lions) was shut out by Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. While it feels strange to comment on the Jaguars and Lions as having two of the better offenses in the NFL, this is the world we live in through 5 weeks of the 2022 NFL season. Additionally, what kind of a football analyst would I be if I didn’t comment on how bad Russell Wilson has been thus far on the Denver Broncos?  Russ cannot cook. Russ appears lost in the kitchen.  Russ is like the chef Linguini from the movie Ratatouille, and Pete Carroll is the talented rat who knows how to cook but hid away from the spotlight (if you don’t understand this reference then you should rent the movie it is delightful). Lastly, the (my) Chicago Bears continue to be horrible while flashing moments of brilliance.  Maybe one day it will all come together for us.  Until then, we press on.

This demonstrates that no matter how much planning we do, things can go sideways in a hurry. We must adapt and pay attention to all trends materializing in front of us. The charts below are meant to assist with this effort, focusing on which defenses give up the most fantasy points (and other key measurables) to each primary offensive position. Certainly, a tougher opponent will make a team’s defense appear potentially worse than usual. However, monitoring these metrics as the season progresses will help us make better fantasy football decisions
